Sanctuary Christian Academy is a nationally accredited Christian boarding school (K-12) for underprivileged girls from Mexico, who come here with a student visa to earn a free, quality education in the arts, sciences, and fine musical arts. SCA is a ministry of Area Evangelism Ministries International, Inc., a Texas non-profit, tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) organization which gives scholarships to children from orphanages, broken homes, and garbage dumps in Mexico. During the 25 years of its existence, SCA has successfully prepared Hispanic students to work in careers of nursing, languages, counseling, manufacturing, church and humanitarian services in their communities, thus breaking free from the former cycle of poverty.
The academy is raising funds in order to complete urgently needed remodeling of its dormitories, including repairs to broken cement floors and cracked exterior walls, the installation of two additional bathrooms, and repairs to our metal gate and security fence, damaged during a recent hurricane.
