Three years ago, an unexpected turn changed everything for my dog, Butterscotch. Diagnosed with IVDD and hip dysplasia, his days soon filled with medication routines, vet visits, and laser therapy. Yet, every moment, Butterscotch's spirit shone brightly, offering snuggles and hugs to anyone who he sees.
Despite all our efforts, the treatments that once brought him comfort are no longer working. He is crying out in pain and its even uncomfortable for him to just sit still or lay down. Butterscotch is only 6 years old (will be 7 in November) We're now facing the daunting step of surgery—both spinal and hip replacement—to hopefully restore some quality of life for Butterscotch. Here in Londonderry, anyone who meets him falls for his gentle nature and constant affection. He's become everyone's favorite furry friend. Kids absolutely love him and he is a gental soul.
As I brace myself for what's ahead, I'm caught between feelings of overwhelm and hope. Butterscotch has filled my life with endless joy and comfort, and I’m determined to give him the same.
