Obituary for Alisha Leigh Freeman

Alisha Leigh Freeman, born January 4, 1976, in Northridge, California, passed away suddenly on April 9, 2025, leaving behind a profound legacy of love, laughter, and compassion. She was the cherished daughter of Anthony Lee Freeman and Geraldine Lee Lafond and was raised in Alta Loma alongside her two older brothers, Byron and Jason.

Alisha graduated from Alta Loma High School in 1994, where she was a vibrant presence on the cheerleading squad and a loyal friend. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from California State University, Long Beach. While at CSULB, Alisha was an active member of the Tri Delta Sorority, where she formed many lifelong friendships that she cherished dearly throughout her life.

Professionally, Alisha dedicated herself to the fields of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, working as a Scientific Lab Technician. She took great pride in her contributions to scientific advancements, always motivated by a deep desire to help people through medicine and innovation.

Her greatest passion, however, was animals. Alisha spent her adult life rescuing, fostering, and advocating for animals throughout San Diego and Los Angeles Counties. She volunteered at shelters, welcomed animals into her home, and worked tirelessly to raise awareness and funds for animal welfare. Her extraordinary love for animals and her commitment to their well-being inspired everyone who knew her.

Alisha was also the devoted caregiver to her beloved mother, Gerry, whom she cared for with relentless love and compassion—ensuring that she was always safe, comfortable, and surrounded by warmth.

With her infectious laugh, radiant energy, and thoughtful spirit, Alisha had a remarkable ability to brighten any room she entered. She was known for her witty, often humorous gifts at weddings, baby showers, and other celebrations—always bringing joy and laughter to those around her.

Alisha is preceded in death by her brother Byron, her nephew Jeremy, and her beloved German Shepherd Bella. She is survived by her mother, Gerry; father, Tony; stepmother, Donna; brother, Jason; and her two loyal German Shepherds, Layla and Ava. Alisha is also deeply mourned by her many friends and her true love, Scott, with whom she shared a beautiful life over the past three years.

Alisha's sudden passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will live on through her legacy as a passionate advocate for animals, a bringer of laughter, and a source of unwavering love to those who were fortunate enough to call her family and friend.
