An unlicensed driver, attempting an illegal, reckless, and unimaginable U-turn into my lane, put me into a head-on collision course with nowhere to turn or avoid. Swerving to avoid, and mostly out of fear, the driver hit me broadside. Thank God for airbags, as I escaped without serious injury, but the car was not so lucky. Front wheel hit left motor and transmission fallen to ground, all steering crushed, and basically irreparable.
The hard part.....
Towing policy to take car to their lot leaves a bill that insurance does not pay for, nor can I access personal belongings without paying this unreal cost. With what my insurance gives for simple liability will be eaten up by towing company, leaving nothing to replace car with.
The harder part....
Although other driver is 100% at fault, any type of recovery or replacement help from them is not available to me because of their lack of coverage and/or license.
The hardest part....
While I have always managed in the toughest of times, picked myself up and climbed out of a few rabbit holes in my life, as well allowed my pride never to let anybody see me vulnerable, this accidents timing is crippling. Transportation is vital for me to get around to clients that I do work for. Nest egg savings has been used for recent repairs. This car can not be fixed and I am besides myself not to do some old habits to hustle or make quick cash My recovery, suggestions, and honesty lead me here to ask for help.
