Hi everyone! If you are from the Hartsville/Darlington area in South Carolina you may know my daughter Mckayla. Those that know her, know she is such a hard worker. She goes out of her way all the time for everyone. She has been working her own business for years of dog sitting, and sometimes people sitting too. She does house sitting with the pets or drop ins and goes above and beyond for her clients. This last year she started her LLC with "The Chaos Homestead" in which she makes these amazing sourdough products and so much more. I'm not saying this because I'm being biased. I'm saying it as a customer myself. She is an extraordinary young woman whom, I'm very proud of. Unfortunately yesterday due to an accident that happened at home, she has majorly injured her knee. It's the same knee that was first injured three years ago. They warned her because she had a shallow bed under the patella that it would continue to dislocate easy on her. Well because of that it has caused her space under the patella to "degenerate" (Dr's words today on it). They have her in a special brace for now to try to keep the patella where it needs to stay. She is going to see the surgeon soon and have mri's done to see which type of surgery she is to have to fix her issue. Either way she is out of work for a good while to heal. She is NOT happy about it at all. You have to know her to understand, she is as independant as they come. From the time she could work, she did and never asks for help unless she has no choice. Her spirit was crushed today with the word surgery and the agonizing thought of more bills piled on what she already has. She is going to be out of work for quite a while with possible surgery with Dr Denton out of Florence. This day and age with bills makes it so hard for someone who is already just getting by to actually live and now she faces the loss of income (Her main income) due to having to heal. During this time she will still be working on her baking business and trying to get out to the markets still. I'm asking a big ask, to try to help her out during this time. Hi all! Mckayla had her surgeon appointment today. She will need surgery but because of her past heart issues, she has to go get testing and an ok from her cardiologist for the surgery. She is scheduled for the surgery in the middle of October. This means the rest of the year she will be unable to work. She will have surgery then about two weeks later will be starting therapy to get range of motion on her leg back and help with pain around the knee area, as long as the dr gives the ok to do so at the two week post op. While they are in surgery he does want to check out some things they picked up on the MRI and see if there is anything else that has to be done other than attaching a ligament to put the knee cap back in place. He explained it really well for us and for that I was thankful. It put her at ease more. She is upset about having the surgery but she's ready to get better so she can get back to working.

Yesterday Mckayla got to get in for her MRI, We will not know anything else until we go see the surgeon next week. They are trying to get her in as soon as possible because of the pain she's in and not able to be mobile as normal. She has been doing the best she can but with her good leg she has plantar fasciitis so the struggle has been real. She is currently getting around with a walker when having to get around. While at home trying to make her baked goods she uses an office chair that has wheels so she is mobile to do what she must to get any orders out. All orders are appreciated. She was sincerely devastated when she was told she needed to remain sedentary until she seen the surgeon. This child is like her father, they can't sit still. They don't know how not to work. It has taken it's toll on her this week, not just physically. We are so thankful for all those who have donated and shared. You all are appreciated more than you know. Will update when surgeon tells us what has to be done. Thank you all again.
