Hello there! My name is Sarah, known as Page on TikTok. Im very active with the fish community on TikTok. Ive met so many amazing people in the fish community and have enjoyed everyone's knowledge, expertise and friendships. I used to keep fish 10 years ago and then decided to stop my hobby. Well, now I want to get back into the hobby. Im in love with African Cichlids mainly Pecocks and Haps and would love to have my own to enjoy.
Just last week, some friends in the fish community suprised me on live wanting to send me gifts to raise funds for an aquarium. It was such a sweet gesture. They wanted to give back to someone thats always supportive but sadly on the sidelines. Ive even had some friends wish to donate fish once my aquarium is ready. What they really want is for me to enjoy fish of my own as much as they do. After the live many friends recommended me setting up some sort of fundraiser that way all the money sent goes to me, not TikTok. Which is why I set up the fundraiser.
A little bit about me, I'm married and have two sons. One of my sons, Connor, has autism level 2 and is intellectually disabled. This has caused me to be a stay at home Mom and full time aid. I do have a part time job during the school year, its not much but mainly helps my mental health during those quiet mornings when the kids are in school. Daily life with Connor is not an easy one at all but his smiles and love makes up for the bad times. While im on the subject for Connor, I truly believe having fish again will be beneficial to him and his development as well.
My plan was to try and save as much as my small paychecks, in the fall, as I can. As you know in America, times are tough and everyone's dealing with this mess. Our property taxes alone doubled from 4k to 8k just this past year. To say money is tight would be an understatement. TikToks fish community wants me to get an aquarium set up ASAP, one of the other reasons im doing this fundraiser.
All money donated will go towards helping me set up an aquarium for African Cichlids. Im planning on setting up a minimum of a 75 gallon tank with also an fx6 filter.
