Support Amy and Her Boys During Arthur's Recovery

Our Cheshire community is coming together to support Amy, a devoted mother of three boys, during an unimaginable time.

Amy and her family moved to Cheshire in 2024 and have quickly become part of our community. She is raising three wonderful boys: Elisha, a freshman at Cheshire High School; Adam, a seventh grader at Dodd Middle School; and Arthur, a fourth grader at Highland Elementary School.

Today, Arthur was struck by a moving vehicle while walking on Highland Ave/Rte 10. Arthur is currently hospitalized and receiving medical treatment for their injuries. As the family focuses on Arthur's recovery and navigates the days ahead, Amy is facing the challenge of balancing work, hospital visits, and caring for all three of her children.

We are creating this fundraiser to help ease some of the financial burden so Amy can take time away from work and be where she is needed most. Funds raised will help cover lost wages, transportation, meals, and other unexpected expenses that arise during this difficult time.

If you are able, please consider making a donation. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. If you cannot donate, sharing this campaign and keeping Arthur and the entire family in your thoughts and prayers is deeply appreciated.

Thank you for helping us surround Amy and her children with the care, compassion, and support that make Cheshire such a special community.

Arthur is home!!!!!!!

Arthur was discharged late Tuesday night and is settling in at home as best as they can.

They are currently using a walker while they heal, but if you know Arthur, you know that a walker isn't going to stop their goal of having the best summer ever!

Arthur and their family have been incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love, support, messages, and prayers from our community. So many people have asked how they can help, and there are a few ways to support the family during this time:

Spotfund Campaign
For those who would like to help ease the financial burden of Arthur's recovery, a Spotfund campaign has been established:
http://spot.fund/53t6fl7sc

Meal Train
Now that Arthur is home, we have also created a Meal Train to help provide meals and gift cards for the family and loved ones supporting Arthur's care:
https://mealtrain.com/wnwk97

Summer Visits & Playdates
One thing Arthur is looking forward to is seeing friends! If your child would like to arrange a visit, drop by to say hello, or set up a summer playdate as Arthur continues to recover, please reach out directly to Amy at (225)333-9542.

Thank you for helping Arthur and their family with kindness, encouragement, and community. Every message, meal, visit, donation, and well-wish reminds them that they are loved and supported by so many people.

Wishing Arthur continued healing and the entire class a summer filled with friendship, laughter, and adventure.

With gratitude,

Gina DeFilio
