Help Bilal Keep His Family Safe and Housed in Gaza
Bilal is a 33-year-old man from Gaza who has spent his entire life living through war, displacement, and uncertainty.
Like so many Palestinians, Bilal has witnessed repeated military assaults, the destruction of neighborhoods, and the loss of loved ones. But nothing could have prepared him for the tragedy that struck his family in 2024.
Two of Bilal’s brothers were killed when airstrikes hit their homes. They were civilians. They were sons, fathers, brothers, and friends whose lives were taken far too soon.
Today, Bilal carries the heavy responsibility of caring for the family they left behind. He works tirelessly to support and protect his elderly parents, as well as several nieces and nephews who have already endured unimaginable loss.
Despite everything he has suffered, Bilal remains hopeful. He loves life. He dreams of a future where his family can live in safety, dignity, and peace. He wants the simple things that every person deserves.
Much of Gaza’s infrastructure has been destroyed or severely damaged. Homes, schools, hospitals, businesses, farms, roads, and water systems have been devastated. Entire neighborhoods have been reduced to rubble.
For many Palestinians, earning an income has become nearly impossible. Businesses have been destroyed, workplaces no longer exist, transportation is limited, and economic activity has largely collapsed. Even skilled and hardworking people often have no opportunity to earn enough to support their families.
Like countless others, Bilal’s family has lost not only loved ones but also the stability that once allowed them to survive independently.
