Dear All,
Thank you so much to all who have helped me in the past. I am so grateful beyond words.
My breast cancer is back and loud as ever. They say the second diagnosis is more frightening than the first. I can certainly confirm that. I am terrified.
I developed these large tumors in the area where my mastectomy, or as I say, where my breast once was. There are also tumors forming near my armpit, where they removed many of my lymph nodes from.
It is painful, ugly, and frightening.
In November of 2022, I was told that I was cancer-free, according to PET scan. Unfortunately, the MD read the results incorrectly.
I went to see a surgeon and they said that they could not operate on them and I will have to revisit radiation and chemo. Which scares me as it is very painful in many ways.
I have been to so many appointments for this and the sad part is that I am by myself. I cry at every appointment as if I were a lost child. Thank God for Medicaid to get me to my appointments, as I have not been able to afford a car, since I lost mine during Hurricane Ian.
Since I am on a fixed income I cannot afford an apartment and do not have a caretaker. So I am now in an assisted living home with my handicapped husband. It is very awful. It's too much to explain.
The problem with this is that they take any income that you may have and only $130 per month.
I feel that I'm beyond curable and am so exhausted from all of this. Many doctors will not take Medicaid and it's been so saddening. I feel that you have to rich and/or have family support, otherwise you are just a number in the system.
Yesterday, I met with oncologist here and demanded that I immediately start chemo again and also radiation for the tumors, and of course surgery.
I hate to reach out for help, yet, there are many things that I will need and not be able to afford that I have lost since I lost my apartment.
They are as follows:
Healthy Cancer Fighting Food!
Vitamins
Hair Wraps and wigs for when I go bald again (sigh)
Money for my cell phone
Money for co-pays
Clothes
The list goes on and on. I am just so stressed that I cannot even think further.
If you can help with anything I am so gracious
I never thought this would be my life at 46, yet at the end of the day we really have no control, and as I have learned to live through faith, that everything will be okay. No matter what.
As a crooner once said.....That's Life.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and know that I love you all.
