I'm Ella Denney and I am raising funds for educational scholarships and heart research with the AHA GO RED x Miss America collaboration! American Heart Association's Go Red for Women has joined forces with Miss America's Scholarship Foundation to raise both research dollars AND tuition scholarships, ensuring a healthier, smarter future for women in America.

I heavily value the partnership between Miss America and the American Heart Association because of the personal challenges I have faced.

At 15 years old, I began experiencing palpitations and episodes that would later be diagnosed as Supraventricular Tachycardia, or SVT. SVT is a congenital heart disease that is described as an abnormally fast heartbeat due to an electrical issue in the upper chambers. During these episodes, I would have a heart rate of over 270 beats per minute. To fix my condition, I have had two cardiac ablations because the first one ended up being unsuccessful. Being diagnosed with a congenital heart disease completely changed my outlook and purpose in life. I created my community service initiative to advocate for those who have been in similar situations as I have. Shortly after creating my platform, one of my biggest inspirations in life, my dad, suddenly passed away from cardiac arrest. This made my initiative even more important, and opened my eyes even more to the effects of heart disease. Since facing these hardships, I have done a significant amount of community service that revolves around heart disease.

I donated 100 Cardiac Care Bags to the cardiac unit of Boston Children's Hospital, I have served as a National Ambassador for the American Heart Association, hosted a CPR class, have been a Heart Month Ambassador for an organization called Conquering CHD, and so much more. This is only the beginning, and I am committed to advocating for heart disease.

Your donation will support these two organizations that I value, both the American Heart Association and the Miss America Opportunity. These organizations have changed my life in so many ways, and your donation will go towards doing the same for others by providing scholarships, and funding heart disease research. Thank you in advance for your support.

Miss America and Miss America's Teen National Scholarships are awarded by a separate non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, the Miss America's Scholarship Foundation Inc. This collaboration provides funds for national awards, and in addition, both Miss America's/Miss America's Teen State Scholarships and the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women movement. The American Heart Association's Go Red for Women is Miss America's Scholarship Foundation's national health thought leader. All above mentioned entities are 501(c)(3) organizations and all donations to this campaign are fully tax-deductible per IRS regulations.
