The Nox Boys of Blawnox, Pennsylvania have decided to take a bucket on the road indefinitely to help support The Education Partnership. Finding a charity that would most positively impact local youth and their ability to discover music led them to their decision to help The Education Partnership with a consistent source of Revenue for their continuous and ever-growing mission in the South Western PA region.
The Education Partnership's mission is to provide school and classroom supplies for teachers and students in low-income schools. They're predominantly a gift-in-kind organization, last year supplying ~$4.3M in supplies to 4,000 teachers, reaching 45,000 students at 119 area schools with a 70% low-income student body population.
This coming school year, they'll serve 4,500 teachers and 55,000 students at 139 schools in the 7-county region.
The outcomes they see from providing basics like pencils and notebooks - all the way up to furniture and technology - are astonishing. In a recent survey (Spring 2019), ~1,000 teachers in the program responded to report the following outcomes:
- 95% report increased class participation
- 93% report increased self-esteem
- 85% report increased homework completion
- 40% report increased student attendance
- 88% report increased academic achievement
