In 2022, my dad, Jared, was diagnosed with kidney cancer whilst also struggling through harsh substance abuse. My relationship with my dad has struggled through this but I knew it was my responsibility to help him in his time of need while I am young and healthy. Throughout that time, I, Malia, a 25 year old female supporting herself, have had to take tons of time off work to help care for my dad after tons of hospital visits and surgeries. I have recently lost my job after all the time off I’ve had to take, and I need help paying my rent in the Bay Area this month in order to still house myself and my father. I have non stop applied for entry level work and higher level positions but I’ve really been struggling with bills and keeping care of my dad. Anything you can offer helps, thank you and God bless.
