I am coming to the community today with an urgent ask for a highly venerated local organizer, activist, leader and all around amazing human. For safety and security reasons, this person needs to remain anonymous, but they spend untold hours day in and out investing in the people around them. Now its our turn to have their back.
Our comrade is experiencing difficulty meeting their basic needs after a recent loss of their second job. They have been able to push wifi and LG&E out several weeks but need a hand immediately with their cell and rent in order to stay connected, continue vital gig work and remain in their home safely.
Rent is due Friday, 3/13 by 5pm and cell will be disconnected on Sunday, 3/15. They have almost all of their rent covered by their main job and gig work, but have a $280 gap there and will need $189 for their cell. Total ask is $469, but lets get them some gas while we are at it.
We take care of us. Solidarity through mutual aid is one of the strongest forms of resistance we can participate in. This person is one of "the helpers" Mr. Rogers told us to look out for. If you have the capacity to contribute financially or through sharing with your own networks, tap in.
