My roommate, Kyle, and I came to own a Presa Canario named Rosco. He's the sweetest dog in existence, despite looking like the biggest bully on the block. He's 65+ lbs of lap dog.
Very early on Dec 26th, he got away from Kyle and by the time we found him, he'd been hit by a vehicle. He couldn't put weight on his back leg, but he wasn't yelping or flinching when we touched it, so we decided to let the swelling go down and see it he was okay.

Fast forward, and the swelling is finally down, but he's still not even trying to use the leg, and it's canted towards the middle of his body. Despite him clearly not being in major pain, we're pretty sure it's dislocated and he needs to see a vet.
Problem is, Kyle and I have both been laid off, and we're already facing eviction soon. We donate plasma to make it day to day, but we weren't ready for an expense like this.
There's only one vet we can get him to directly on the bus, and they are going to charge us about $135 just for the exam, plus the xrays or scripts or whatever else will be needed. We tried applying for assistance and were denied. So we're going to donate plasma again in a few days and hope to God we can at least get him in.
This is our best shot at getting him whole again. We both realize that our unstable living and financial situation is helping us from keeping Rosco in the way he needs and deserves, so once he's fixed up, we plan to find him a new home with a family that can give him the best. We love him so much, and it's killing us that he's in pain, that he has trouble laying down and walking. He's so athletic normally, and we would take him for long walks and runs in the city, and to see him laying there, bored and listless, is heartbreaking.
Please, any help you can give would be so appreciated. Thank you.
