My name is Hazem Al-Yazji, and I am from the Gaza Strip, where we have been living through an ongoing humanitarian catastrophe. Our city and our home were destroyed, and we were forced to leave our land and live in tents that are not fit for human life.
We are enduring extremely difficult conditions, with severe shortages of food, clean water, medical care, and other basic necessities.
I have a family of six, and I am currently unemployed because the destruction of Gaza's infrastructure and economy has left many people, including me, without work or any source of income.
I have a 9-month-old daughter named Sham, who was born during the war. She suffers from a serious congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot, and she urgently needs life-saving heart surgery. Due to the blockade and the closure of the border crossings, she has been unable to access treatment outside the Gaza Strip.
The healthcare system in Gaza has been devastated, and many hospitals and medical facilities are no longer able to provide specialized care. The surgery my daughter needs requires advanced medical facilities and experienced specialists, which are currently unavailable.
Her oxygen saturation is only 75%, and she suffers greatly, struggling to breathe and becoming exhausted even while feeding.
I also have another daughter, Nesreen, who is 4 years old and has Cerebral Palsy (CP). She cannot live a normal childhood and needs continuous care and intensive physical therapy.
