Betty the Beagle is a rescued hound who began blessing our hearts with her love in 2018. She has already bested surgery once before, and now we’ve encountered a new challenge: tooth troubles.
Betty (pictured above) was rescued from a puppy mill situation in Tennesee by RobDar’s HoundSong Rescue: over 100 dogs were claimed from the breeder’s house; Betty is part of the 23 beagles Robdar’s was able to claim and begin the process of healing and homing Thankyou Robdar’s for my #Tenn23 Beagle! The years spent there, she was living outside in a rabbit hutch with so many other beagles ( Her documented rescue story can be found Here). It’s been so exciting to see her grow into the bold, beautiful beagle she is ( even the loving couch-potato she may be).
With recent life changes: new home, new furry friends, and a new vet in Indy, we’ve discovered our beagle had a secret hidden in her teeth - she’s a few years older than we thought she was! With how decayed and worn down her teeth were from her past life, it was hard for prior vets to tell just how old she is. This 10 YEAR OLD little lady is in pain, and BADLY needs several teeth extracted, some adjusted, and heavy plaque removed. With added expenses for recovery medications, on top of the estimated dental surgery bills, I need to act fast before any form of bone loss and periodontal damage can develop.
