From a Brown Paper Sack to a Community of Hope: The Story of F.O.M. Fishers of Men
It all started with a simple brown paper sack.
In March of last year, guided by a calling to serve, we packed 30 of them. Inside each one was a simple lunch—a sandwich, a piece of fruit, a bottle of water, and a note of encouragement. It was a small act, born from a powerful conviction: to spread the love and hope that God has called us to share with our neighbors. That was the first day for F.O.M. Fishers of Men.
What began with 30 sack lunches has been blessed beyond our imagination. The need in our community was clear, and with God’s grace, our small offering began to grow. Today, just over a year later, we have grown from feeding 30 people to serving hot meals to over 100 people once a month in and around Navarro County. We’ve shared not just food, but handshakes, prayers, and a sense of belonging.
But with this growth, our eyes have been opened to an even greater need. We see the hunger that isn't just for food, but for hope, for guidance, and for a safe future for our children. Our youth face immense challenges that are directly affecting our community—bullying, gun violence, drug abuse, and mental health crises leading to suicide.
We cannot stand by. That is why we launched our first Back-to-School Rally, and it’s why our mission must expand.

Our goal is to raise funds to take the next crucial steps in our mission. We currently serve one meal a month, but the need is present every single day. We serve Navarro County, but we know struggling families and individuals in surrounding communities are also waiting for a helping hand.
Your donation will go directly to work, allowing us to:

Increase our feedings from once a month to multiple times a month, providing consistent and reliable support to those experiencing homelessness and food insecurity.

Expand our reach to surrounding communities, so we can bring meals and resources to more people who need them.

Fully fund our youth initiatives, including the Back-to-School Rally, providing essential resources, school supplies, and a positive start to the year.

Launch new youth programs designed to help our kids overcome the specific challenges they face, offering them a safe space and a path toward a brighter future.
