I am writing to request financial sponsorship for the Houston Phoenix Fire Women's Professional Football Team. The Houston Phoenix Fire organization strives to become an organization of excellence, through continuous improvement. Our mission is to empower, increase confidence, foster lasting relationships, and develop female leaders, through a sport that has historically been exclusively for men.
Since our inception in 2020, we have successfully created “Her”story by dominating the two previous 8 on 8 semi-pro tackle football leagues we were a member of. In our first 3 years of existence, we earned two consecutive championships, and was undefeated in the regular season, in our third.
Our team is made up of a diverse group of women ranging from the a young lady who graduated from high school during the season to the age of 54, who are all spectacular and dedicated athletes. As children, mothers, wives, caregivers and hardworking women, our goal is to represent the city of Houston every time we step onto the field.
We give opportunities for young girls to women of all ages, who love the game of football and aspire to play, to compete professionally one day. We believe in breaking stereotypes, which is why we are proud to be part of a professional league that encourages and supports women in sports.
Although we do have teams nationwide amongst three conferences, many still do not know women's tackle football exists. This team has been blessed with the opportunity to make playoffs once again in our first 11 on 11 season and came out victorious in the first round, with hopes of winning three championships in 4 years. However, like most things, success comes with a price.
The second round of playoffs will be held in California and the Championship held in Florida. We have a goal to reach $30,000 in the next 2 weeks which is an extreme task for a team composed of 35, including players and coaches. With God's grace and protection, along with your financial assistance we look forward to keeping our winning tradition going.
