At the end of September Hurricane Ian ripped through SW Florida. Many of my friends suffered great losses including this family. After years of saving money for their first home, Jennifer and Daniel finally made their dream come true. However, after hunkering down with her mother, son, husband and other family members, they heard their roof rip off and their air conditioner land in their patio. The next week rain came and with that, what was left of their roof could no longer hold up. They suffered water damage in every room of their home. Although FEMA is able to assist them, it's not nearly enough to cover their mortgage, a storage unit for what they can salvage, and rent for a new home until their home can be gutted and rebuilt. All hotels are full and rentals are scarce right now. This is an average family trying to survive. Jennifer dedicates her life teaching young minds as a middle school teacher. Daniel does work as a screener. Their young son who has special needs and does not do well with change, just wants a place to call home. If you can spare any amount to get my friends back on their feet, they would be so humbled and grateful. Out of all my dearest friends who have been affected, these friends need our help the most.
