Crisis Relief for Lisa’s Family: Help Us Restore Safety and AC and our home.
My name is Lisa. I am 56 years old, live with a disability, and recently threw my back out, leaving me severely sick from the heavy medications I have been prescribed to manage the pain. My husband, who is 62 and currently losing his vision, is the sole financial provider for our household. Together, we care for a beautifully full but vulnerable home: my grown son who is mentally disabled, my 22-year-old youngest daughter, and both of our elderly mothers, who suffer from severe health issues. We have always worked hard to stick together and take care of one another, but this past month has brought a series of devastating blows that have left us completely broken and financially drowning.
A Month of Unthinkable Crises
In the last 30 days, our family has been hit by a relentless wave of emergencies:
The Car: Our family vehicle was hit, disrupting our essential transportation.
The Heartbreak: We suddenly lost our beloved dog, leaving an emotional void in our home.
The Water Damage: A severe leak completely ruined our living room floors and cabinets.
The AC Breakdown: In the midst of trying to recover, our home's air conditioning unit completely failed.
The Urgent Emergency
Money is now entirely nonexistent, and we have exhausted every out-of-pocket resource we have. While insurance is covering small portions of the water rebuild, and a warranty is covering a fraction of the AC replacement, the remaining out-of-pocket costs are massive.
We are in a desperate situation. With two fragile, elderly mothers and a disabled son in the house, living without air conditioning is a life-threatening health hazard. We simply cannot safely stay in this home without a working unit, but we have absolutely no way to bridge the financial gap to replace it and finish the structural repairs.
How Your Kindness Helps
We are turning to our community because we have nowhere else to go. Every single dollar raised will go directly toward:
Paying the remaining balance to install our new, vital AC unit.
Covering the out-of-pocket gap to fix our ruined floors and cabinets so our home is safe to walk in.
Helping us stabilize from the sudden rush of emergency expenses.
If you cannot donate, please consider sharing our story with your friends, coworkers, or church groups. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping me protect and care for my family during the hardest month of our lives.
