You may also donate to CAWS for Biscuit's surgery, on Venmo - https://account.venmo.com/u/CAWSANIMALS.

Biscuit is a 10 year old cat with a very unique look! He is the sweetest cat you will ever meet despite the fact that life dealt him a difficult hand.

Short Story:

Biscuit was born with a condition which has never been reported in cats or dogs which made it impossible for him to breathe through his nose and left him with constant congestion and discharge and likely caused deformation of his adorable face. After finding himself homeless, at a shelter, at a rescue vet and then in a CAWS foster home - he was taken to a specialty vet for a ct scan and rhinoscopy. The vet was able to perform a surgical procedure to remove the blockages in his nasal passages which will change Biscuit's life!! This surgery cost $4000 and any donations to help with this cost will allow CAWS to continue to help animals in need.

Long Story:

Biscuit was turned in to an animal shelter as a stray and they noticed right away that his face and head were not formed normally. Fearing injury, they turned him over to a rescue vet where they determined that he may have had head trauma previously, but his skull fractures had healed and he seemed pretty healthy aside from significant congestion. Everyone who worked there quickly became Biscuit fans and he became an office cat there for about a year.

Until a CAWS volunteer fell completely in love with him and took him home. His congestion and lots of boogers never cleared up, though.

His people decided to have a ct scan and rhinoscopy done on Biscuit to see if there might be something that could be done to help his constant congestion and during this procedure, the vet found that Biscuit actually had a condition that he had never seen before called Concha Bullosa. This condition has not been reported in cats or dogs - only humans!

Biscuit had an air filled cystic structure in his nasal passage on one side, which had taken over and blocked the airway completely and caused abnormal growths to fill up behind it. On the other side, he had no open airway either! This cyst had likely put pressure on his face as a kitten and his bones were forming and caused deformation of his adorable face.

This meant that Biscuit had likely lived 10 years never being able to breathe through his nose or smell anything.

Now - the miracle! This amazing specialty vet was able to perform a surgical procedure on Biscuit to remove the blockages and completely open up his nasal passageways.

Biscuit now could breathe and smell for what may be the first time in his life!

This life changing procedure cost $4000.00. We are asking for donations to help CAWS pay this bill, so that they can continue to help cats and dogs in need of rescue, spay/neuters, vaccinations and medical care to improve their quality of life!
