Protect Paulding County — No data centers
*All funds will be deposited into a community-managed bank account per legal advice. We will remain transparent on the use of these funds.

Our purpose

We believe the people of Paulding County deserve a meaningful voice in decisions that shape our community. That's why we're working to ensure any data center development is transparent, follows due process, protects our neighborhoods, and gives residents a meaningful voice in decisions that affect our community.

Why we're organizing

The future of Paulding County belongs to the people who live here.

Proposed large-scale data center projects and prior zoning decisions have raised concerns about transparency, public notice, and neighborhood protections.

We're working to ensure every resident has the information, opportunity, and voice needed to participate in decisions that will shape Paulding County for generations to come.

What's driving the community's involvement?

  • Limited public notice & transparency: Late notice limits the community's ability to shape decisions that affect them before they’re finalized.

  • Current zoning protections: Existing ordinances may not provide sufficient setbacks, buffers, or safeguards between industrial facilities and homes.

  • Data centers near neighborhoods: Industrial-scale facilities can permanently change nearby communities through their size, infrastructure, lighting, sound, and potential impacts on neighborhood character and property values.

  • Resource planning & accountability: Before approval, developments should be required to account for how their water, power, and infrastructure needs will be met, and how they'll minimize strain on public resources.

  • Public costs and utility burden: Residents should not be expected to absorb tax, utility, or infrastructure costs created by private development.

What funds will be used for

We're pursuing every lawful avenue available to ensure residents have a voice.

  • Printing flyers, signs, and t-shirts

  • Legal fees (petitions, consultation on zoning, etc).
