3/8/25 To Dave Wyman's community,
Many of you know that Dave had very bad stroke on 2/10/23. He has been fighting hard to regain movement, speech and quality of life since then. Your support has definitely bouyed him in his efforts and he can now talk (briefly and slowly), walk very short distances with a walker, and get around in his electric wheelchair. The Wyman Family is having a re-union in Northern California in July 2025. Dave and Danita really want to go. There are quite a few logisitcs, but it is possible. It will include a celebration of Dave's 75th birthday.
We need to raise some funds for upgraded plane tickets, wheelchair van rental and electric wheelchair rental among some other things.

BELOW is part of the original SPOTFUND story. THESE FUNDS HELPED TO GIVE DAVE AND DANITA a 2 story wheelchair lift so he can get in and out of his house, a re-modelled bedroom and bathroom to accomodate a wheelchair and some coverage for the costs of caregivers.--

As a family, we are rallying around Dave and praying for the best. Our hope is that he can go home someday, even if life looks different than it was before his stroke. But doctors aren't sure he will ever be able to leave assisted living and have tried to prepare us for a reality that is much less optimistic.
Regardless of the future, medical costs are already burdensome for Dave and his wife, Danita.
Some of the main costs include:
- Medical costs that aren't covered by insurance.
- Nursing home costs around $9,000 a month.
- If he gets home, ongoing caregiver costs could run up to $6,000 a month.
- We are working to get him into a nursing home that provides a higher level of care than his current facility, which has an upfront cost of $28,000. Eventually they will need to exhaust resources, and he will be eligible for MediCaid.
This event has turned Dave and Danita’s lives upside down. The costs are staggering, and as a family, we want to help relieve some of the financial burdens. We know that the Wyman family has an amazing community, and are asking you to join us in holding up this couple during this difficult season.
