Sterling Gabriel Wingo was born 12/07/2021. He was born with saggital craniosynostosis which means his skull plates prematurely fused . He is missing a soft spot which is critical for brain development. We recently found out from a neurosurgeon that the only way to solve this issue , is through neurosurgery . He will have to undergo surgery on his skull , the neurosurgeon will remove a part of his skull so his brain is able to grow normally with no developmental delays . Without surgery , he would likely experience developmental delays , possibly seizures and loss of sight .  We are starting this go fund me because we will miss work days .. we are not sure how long the process will be . We aren't sure how much work will be missed due to appointments even after his surgery or if our insurance will cover his helmet . Sterling will be in a shaping/molding helmet up to a year after his surgery . Of course , this is something totally unexpected. No parent thinks about the possible complications that a newborn may have .. this was the last thing that we ever thought would happen, but here we are .
