Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Aniyah Marsh, and I am a proud new member of the Ohio State All Girl Cheer Team.
Cheering became a passion for me all the way back to the young age of three years old when I joined the Niles Little Red Dragons in my hometown of Niles, Ohio. I worked my way from a mascot to a Little Red Dragon cheerleader, to Xtreme Allstars Competitive Cheer, then cheering for the Niles McKinley High School team, attending countless practices and competitions along the way. My goal has always been to join a competitive cheer club while attending college and I achieved that by being accepted on the Ohio State All Girl Cheer squad.
As an athlete I give it my all in the gym and in every performance and as a student, 110% in the classroom. I believe a well-rounded individual can and will do both, as both are important to shape a person into the best they can be. Every single day I push my limits in both areas to ensure that success is the only option, but behind every late-night practice, every early morning cram session, and every intense workout, I have come to realize that I cannot do this by myself.
They say it takes a village to raise a child, and it could not be truer, but it also takes a village to support a person’s dream and its people that make dreams happen, people like family, friends, and community.
