(The boy we are referencing is being identified as "C" for safety purposes.)
C needs our help, his future and safety is at risk. C is a young boy (7 years old) who has been living with a beloved temporary family (The Schklair family) for over 5 months. He comes from a background with generational patterns of domestic violence, abuse and neglect. If the Schklairs do not procure legal representation, there is a chance he could be returned back to that same dangerous setting.
C is a fun and brave kid; he loves Mariokart, swimming, and sports. His biological father is no longer living and his mother, who recently paid bail from jail while awaiting sentencing, is an unsafe option; neither parent is physically able to meet the needs of the child.
C has been living under the guardianship and safety of Matthew & Abigail Schklair: God-fearing, Christ-like parents who are determined to give their children the best opportunity for a joyous, fulfilling, and well-rounded future. All the children Matt & Abby have taken in have had an abusive past and the Lord has clearly called them to this monumental task of parenting children who did not have healthy, equipped, or safe original parents.
In this latest season, Matt & Abby have been in a legal and medical battle between hospitals and the court, trying to secure temporary and, hopefully, extended protection for C from parties who would threaten his safety and well-being. They are seeking to secure a permanent protective order, medical consent, and conservatorship to give C the best chance at permanency and stability.
C needs a family who will love him consistently and dependably like the Schklairs.
Would you be willing to help ensure the Schklairs have the ability to secure the necessary legal resources to protect C (and also a potential future adoption as well)?

My name is Austin, I am the organizer of this *spotfund, and I have been interwoven into the lives of Matt & Abby for several years. Noah, their oldest adopted child, and I are blessed to have a Big/Little Brother relationship, and I am routinely in and out of their house over the month and also see them at church regularly (They have quite the mumbo-jumbo family van! I mean, you need one when you have that many kids, right?). Being so involved in their family has been a beautiful, fun, and enlightening opportunity for me to see the passion, dedication, and sheer love they have for the well-being of all their children. Their house is wholesome and filled with joy, constant voices, and teeming with legos, sippy-cups, toys, and hope.
THANK YOU for taking the time to read this, and anything you can contribute for the Schklair family is deeply appreciated.
