Two months ago, my dad passed away ( this is a picture of him), leaving behind a house without central heat or air conditioning. It's heartbreaking to see Mom barely able to get around and mostly homebound, but it's her home for now.
The financial blow of losing Dad has left us all feeling vulnerable. Life insurance barely covered his funeral expenses—there was nothing left for essential home repairs, especially central heating and air conditioning. She won't even have enough insurance to put her away when the time comes. She's made do with a window ac for the living room, but don't know what she's going to do for heat this winter.

Every dollar counts right now as we aim to raise $5000 to go towards central heating and air conditioning . We know it will cost a lot more than that, we're taking care of the plumbing and can't afford all of it, and we need help, desperately.
