Hello! My name is Mariah, and I am starting this fundraiser for my mom, Bethany. Last October, she suffered multiple serious injuries due to a bad fall. She is going in for surgery on February 16th, and we are hoping that this will be the only surgery! My goal is to raise 6k in 6 days, so that my mom can go into surgery without worrying about bills, and focus on a complete, full recovery.

It's very hard for my mom to ask for help, (which is why this is a private fundraiser). But she needs the help desperately right now, which is why I wanted to put this together. She has been self-employed as a contract cleaner for offices as her only income (her side hustle for the past 11 years) for the latter part of last year, and now into this new year. She has had to permanently give up all but one of her contracts due to being in so much pain. Even after surgery, she won't be able to clean full-time anymore, and will be heading into a new career of proofreading/ writing copy after she is recovered.
So why 6K? My mom will have no income (self-employment doesn't allow for temporary disability or paid leave, etc.) during her recovery period. So this 6K will allow for a full 8 week recovery period as she heals and transitions into working again. Full recovery after this surgery can take a full year, so this initial recovery time is crucial.
If you know my mom, she is constantly going, so this is going to be an extremely difficult time for her. But she will need a ton of rest, so we will be on her! She is absolutely terrified and very nervous, but has good people around to help! Please, if you are able to, and feel compelled to, please help!
