Help Ben Hear and Heal Again
Meet Ben. He's a 9-year-old Yorkie who came into Donna's Love Pet Rescue this week, and honestly, our hearts are breaking for this little guy!
What’s Happening?
After bouncing from owner to owner, Ben was surrendered with a severe ear condition that's causing him severe, ongoing pain. He has bilateral ear infections that went untreated for so long that both ear canals are now filled with tumors and damaged beyond what medication can fix. He's in constant pain and nearly deaf. The only solution is surgery to remove the diseased tissue. The procedure is called bilateral ear ablation, and it's his only chance at relief.
Why this surgery?
When ear infections go untreated for too long, the ear canals can become so damaged and narrowed that medications can no longer reach the infection. The only solution is surgery to remove the diseased tissue and create a permanent opening for drainage and healing. While it sounds intense, this surgery will give Ben relief from the chronic pain he's been living with.
The complication
Last night Ben developed an eye infection with green discharge. We have to treat that before we can even schedule his ear surgery. Every day we wait for funds is another day this boy suffers.
The cost:
The surgery estimate is $3,026, but we’re raising $4,000 to cover:
