In times of hardship and adversity, our community has consistently demonstrated its remarkable capacity to rally together in support of those in need. Whether faced with crises, injury or personal struggles, the collective spirit of compassion and empathy shines brightly. It is the main pillar we stand on at Train after-all. Our community members have repeatedly shown their willingness to lend a helping hand, offering not only material aid but also emotional support and solidarity.
One of our members truly needs that right now.
Mat Cronin was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia on January 19. For the next year he will be going to Dana Farber in Boston MA for observation every 2 months and after that will begin T-cell Therapy or Chemotherapy. Currently and fortunately he is still able to live his life and do all the things he loves to do - "biking, being really good looking and pumping extreme amounts of iron...especially before going to the beach." However, we can't relate to the fear of losing those things he takes for granted and enjoys everyday. 2023 has not been his year. To make matters worse, treatment costs are stacking up, his dog was recently hit by a car and needed emergency surgery and, he was just laid off.
It is very unlike Mat to reach out and ask for help, so we will do that for him.
