Hello!
If you don't know me my name is Christian Elliott-Haynes. I'm 19 years old and I currently attend Georgia State University, where I am a first year Computer Information Systems Major. I've been heavily involved with the Marching Arts Community for about 5 years now, and my passion for the activity has grown tremendously each year I've participated. This summer I've been given the opportunity to be apart of the 2023 Drum Corps International Tour with the Sacramento Mandarins, where we will perform in places all around the country. The Sacramento Mandarins are a World Class Drum and Bugle Corps based in Sacramento, California whose goal is to transform the lives of young adults through the performing arts. Receiving a contract to perform with a group like this is one of my biggest accomplishments in life. I never thought I would make it this far in my marching career, however there is one more hurdle I still have to get over.
The financial commitment that comes with marching Drum Corps is significantly higher (especially after the pandemic) due to the corps having to cover housing for its members, travel costs, food, and other logistical things that might come up during the summer. Being a full-time student that's focused on maintaining exceptional academic standing has always made this dream of mine seem impossible, but I'm hoping that with your help I can turn this dream into a reality. Any amount that you could give is whole heartedly appreciated, and if you can't donate a simple share would mean the absolute world to me.
