This is Estela Flores. She basically raised me throughout my early childhood in Peru and helped shape who i am today. I had lunch with her today in Lima after not seeing her for 10 years and was humbled at how strong of a person she is. At 81 years old she still works everyday preparing and selling breakfasts in her local village for $1. Her husband who turns 100 in March is legally blind and wakes up at 4am with her to help her secure produce at the market for her business. She recently lost the roof of her home due to a storm. As you can imagine the infrastructure in her hometown is far from ideal. The average cost of a roof replacement is $1500 and while that might not seem like a lot, it is certainly an unattainable number for her. Timy and I will be matching all donations.
Given her age, I would love to gift her a new roof for Christmas and don't think its fair for anyone of that age to be dealing with a faulty home. Forever thankful for any donations and shares. Anything helps, lets get Estela a new roof!
