1,046 MILES. COMPLETED.
From October 2 to November 11 (Veterans Day), I rucked 1,046 miles across Texas, fully self-supported.
No crew.
No support vehicle.
No shortcuts.
Just a weighted pack and 40 days on foot, averaging 26 miles a day.
I started at sea level in Port Arthur, crossed small towns, back roads, open country, and desert, climbed Guadalupe Peak, the highest point in Texas, then continued west to El Paso, finishing atop Mount Cristo Rey.
I walked by myself.
But I was never truly alone.
WHY I DID THIS
I know what itās like to be alive and still feel disconnected.
From purpose.
From people.
From yourself.
Iāve lived through addiction, chaos, and burnout. What nearly broke me wasnāt just substance abuse, it was losing my sense of meaning.
We live in a world thatās constantly connected but deeply isolated. We scroll instead of speak. We chase comfort and wonder why we feel empty.
Out on the road, stripped down and exposed, I was reminded of something simple and ancient: when we remove distractions, we make room to listen.
This ruck was a long act of surrender.
To the miles.
To the weight.
To whatever carried me when my own strength ran thin.
It tested body, mind, spirit, and heart.
And it confirmed something Iāve come to believe deeply.
Even when we walk by ourselves, we are not abandoned.
We are built for more.
HELP FINISH THE FILM
The miles are done.
The story is still unfolding.
This journey is becoming a feature-length documentary about grit, recovery, responsibility, and faith that shows up when no one else can.
We are raising the final $30,000 to complete the film.
Your support helps:
-
Finish editing and post-production
-
Shape the story with honesty and care
-
Bring it to the people who need to know theyāre not walking by themselves either
Every contribution helps carry the final weight.
1,046 miles proved what the body can endure.
This film is about what carries us when endurance isnāt enough.
Thank you for standing with us.
We Are Built for More.
