Rufus is truly one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet. He belongs to Emma and Isaac, who manage the Ranch. He is a constant, joyful presence that everyone loves having around.
Yesterday, Rufus was involved in a very serious and traumatic accident. He was kicked by a horse and had to undergo emergency surgery, which included the removal of several teeth. He also suffered a broken jaw. After an overnight stay at CSU Emergency, Rufus is now safely back home at the ranch and beginning his recovery. He will be on strict rest in “doggy jail”for the next six weeks.
The emergency surgery costs are estimated at around $8,000. While Emma and Isaac do have insurance for Rufus, Rachel and I wanted to share what happened with the boarders and organize a fundraiser to help support them during this unexpected and difficult time.
The most important thing is that Rufus is going to be okay. If you feel moved to help with the emergency vet expenses, I know Emma and Isaac would be incredibly grateful.
