My name is Keana. I am a proud mother of my 22 month old son Krew. We have been fighting Johnson county Iowa CPS to get Krew back home with me and his newborn baby brother Knox. Two days after Knox was born it was ruled on my termination of parental rights. I have been sober now for 100 days I have completed intensive outpatient and I am actively in therapy twice a week. They only gave me six months to try to get my son back home to me. Half of which I’ve been doing everything in my power to ensure his return home only to be met by a broken system. At this point in my case, I feel like my only shot is to get a private attorney to fight my appeal. Unfortunately, the attorney I’ve been caught appoint. I don’t feel like has crew or my best interest at heart. This same attorney is a GAL and other cases under the same court so I feel like he’s not going to fight as hard for us because of not wanting to go up against this judge that wrongfully terminated me. All I did was ask for six more months and I knew I could get him home. I was already progressing so quickly and Visitations with him only for him to be ripped away with a fully supervised to our visit at the end. I’m begging and pleading for any help in order to gain a private attorney so I can be represented properly and have a fighting chance at returning my son home where he belongs.
