In the picture is my sister Della. (She is moving from inpatient hospital rehab to a rehab facility to focus more on learning to live withoout her lower body....Jan 2025 Della was in a semi accident. She was the sleeping passenger in the semi when a drunk driver decided to park in the middle of the fast lane and leave his vehicle. The drive had 2 choice hit the people in the slow lane or swerve in hope of missing the parked car. He swerved but didn't miss the car and Della was thrown inside the semi and broke her back. She is never going to walk again and has had at least 3 surgeries to mend what can be mended and is now learning to live all over again without the bottom half of her body. Tragic as this is Della knows it's going to be at least another year in rehab to be able to move around om her own but she has not lost her drive for life. She encourages others thru her pain and is striving to get home to her amazing grand babies and her son who is working on getting his home ada ready for her.
As Della's sister I have known her my whole life and I can say I have never met someone that had been thru such a tragic situation that refuses to give up. She doesn't know I started this because she doesn't want to ask for assistance but her son expressed to me that it's going to cost alot to get the house ada for her.
