Dear friends & family,
I am so excited to announce that I will be going on my first medical mission trip this December, 2023. I will be traveling to Masindi, Uganda for about 8-9 days to provide care and serve those in need (all ages!). I will travel with a team of 30-40 providers, nurses, pharmacists, and non-medical staff as part of the OneWorld Health organization. OneWorld Health provides a vast range of services in health care, dentistry, and behavioral health to impoverished communities in Uganda. I have been working as a nurse practitioner in family medicine for a little over a year now, and worked as a bedside nurse in a pediatric ER and adult cardiac floor. I am feeling incredibly blessed to have been chosen for this opportunity - and I cannot wait to meet/be a part of this incredible team. Our mission is to provide basic, quality care to those in need that is not just compassionate, but truly sustainable. I was impressed to learn that OneWorld has a team of full time physicians that continue to serve year round. Over the next several months I will be preparing/educating myself on some of the most common conditions I will be treating, and complete an orientation with my team.
