Greetings friends and family,
I’m excited to share that I was selected to study abroad in Ghana through the HBCU Africa Education Coalition in Summer 2026. To help make this opportunity possible, I’m raising $5,000 to cover travel, lodging, meals, and educational activities.
The HAEC program will allow me to expand this work globally. Using a Pan‑African model, the program promotes identity, global competency, and leadership among students of African ancestry. I will study alongside students from HBCUs and African universities while engaging in service‑learning projects that center on community, culture, and sustainability.
I’m a junior Biology major at North Carolina Central University with a 3.37 GPA and a strong passion for environmental science, conservation, and community health. My internships with the City of Raleigh strengthened my leadership and deepened my commitment to environmental stewardship.
Studying in Ghana will allow me to learn from new cultural and ecological perspectives while engaging in service‑learning rooted in community and sustainability.
If you’re unable to donate, your prayers and shares are just as meaningful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for believing in me, supporting my journey, and investing in my future. I look forward to sharing updates and photos as I prepare for and embark on this unforgettable experience.
With love and gratitude,
Lauren
