Anyone who knows me, knows that my beloved rescue cat Connie Cons, passed away this past winter of old age. She got me through the darkest years of my life, and is absolutely irreplaceable.
Grieving a pet you love as a family member is unbelievably painful. I went through my grieving journey trying to find peace in a way to honor her. And what I came to was to rescue kittens in need of a safe, loving, caring, healthy home.
I recieved a last minute urgent opportunity to rescue two amazing kittens (the alternative being sent to a high risk shelter) that were rescued from a kitten mill in Texas.

They are 2 of 37 kittens that survived, 78 others froze to death when the Texas power grid failed and left this mass breeder's facility without heat, electricity or water. It was devastating and the rescue effort was quickly overwhelmed.
Once I heard the story of the two kittens I would soon take in, it brought me to tears and I had absolutely no question that they were rescued from an awful place.
Mooshy, is a male munchkin kitten, and Binx is some kind of ragdoll. 7 and 6 months old respectively.
I couldn't not take them in, especially after I decided to rescue in Connie's memory. When I got them to my house, they were both in pretty rough shape. Neither is spayed or neutered. Both had significant eye infections, most likely UTIs, were both underweight and extremely skittish, shy, and scared.
They've made great progress and I did everything I could to improve their health, and they certainly have improved, but are still in desperate need of a visit to the vet for their overall wellness exams, vaccinations and any additional care they may require upon being evaluated by a vet.
There is also the possibility that the female, Binx, was already pregnant before they were rescued from the breeder, before the power grid failure she would sell kittens far too young for thousands of dollars, refuse to have them spayed or neutered nor tested for FIV, FeLV or given the vaccinations they should have received.
They are absolutely amazing, happy, playful kittens that have bonded closely to each other, and myself and my daughter Hailey. I feel grateful to give them a safe and loving home.
I was not anticipating rescuing two kittens, on such sudden emergency notice, much less ones from a kitten mill known for not providing the bare minimum of care.
In honor of my birthday, on May 11th....I wanted to start this fundraiser to raise money to get them the proper vet care they desperately need, and on the off chance Binx was already pregnant, she'll require additional care. But otherwise they'll both be spayed and neutered as soon as possible.
Mooshy, as a short legged munchkin cat with an extra long torso, has a fairly risky chance of developing back pain and increased pressure on his spine. I just want to give them the best life that I can.
I've never done a fundraiser like this, but given the unexpected last minute urgent rescue of them, I need help with their vet expenses, and any money raised beyond my goal, will be put towards non-profit CT local rescue organizations and focus on rescuing innocent kittens from living in small cages & being forced into repeated breeding from a very young age.
Any amount is extremely, extremely appreciated and desperately needed. Or even just sharing this link on any of your social media pages to reach more people, would be a huge help.
I will be forever grateful...and getting the funding to get them any and all vet recommended care will truly be the best birthday present I could ask for.
I'll be happy to post updates on their vet visit and any issues they need medication/treatment for, and when they're spayed and neutered.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read their story, and help of ANY kind will directly ensure Mooshy and Binx are able to live healthy, happy, long lives❤️
