Hello my name is Heather Foster and I am a working homeless person in Dayton Ohio. I have a job working Monday through Friday 8:00 to 5:00. I have been living in my car with two cats since September 16th 2024. I'm in this position because of an ex-boyfriend of 6 years got mad because I chose to make the car payment instead of a house payment. My situation began when he was admitted to the hospital on July 13th from MRSA. Our home was based on two incomes what he was in the hospital I was the only one working. And my income alone was not enough to cover everything including house payment of $1,093 a month car payment of 680 a month plus insurance and bills such as electric and cable and groceries. I used the savings along with my income to try and keep everything we have so we don't lose nothing that we worked for but that was not enough. I was faced with the decision to pay my house payment and still end up going homeless and losing everything including my job or pay my car payment live in my car keep my job and go homeless. My decision is I chose to pay my cars take what little I can and my two cats and live in my car. He got mad when I told him that he will have to go live with his mom once he gets released from the hospital he did not like that. I seen his true colors. Well he was finally discharged from a facility a rehab facility on September 20th 2024 after being hospitalized for a total of 69 days. I'm not one to ask for help I try and do stuff on my own trying to save money to get my own place but it is expensive to be homeless. Coworkers have shown concern for me and I appreciate it coworkers have offered to help me some have and I appreciate it immensely. But it is starting to get cold out here sooner than expected I am scheduled to look at an apartment tomorrow that I can afford just need a little bit of help of getting in there and getting started though it's $500 a month $500 deposit so that's why my goal is only a thousand just only asking for what I need if I happen to be gifted more than what I'm hoping for I will pay that for to those in need or give it to a charity or what I can to help others so my goal that I'm only asking is $1,000 for deposit and first month's rent.
