This summer I have the opportunity to go on my first mission trip and I’m very excited to share the details with you all. Our Church, One Fellowship, is partnering with Bread of Life Missions to send a second mission team to Turkana, Kenya to spread the gospel to remote villages in the area.
I have felt the tug on my heart for years to go on a mission trip but it never seemed to be the right time. Whether it was work, family, or just life, there was always something keeping me from listening to this call. When I heard about the group from our church going to Kenya last year and all of the amazing work being done, I told myself if given the opportunity I would go next time. I had no idea “next time” would be so soon. Work is still crazy, the family still needs me, and life is still…. Life. I have prayed about it and have realized there is no such thing as the “right time”. I feel in my heart that this is THE time for me to take this leap and do what I can to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the people of Turkana. Our team is still in the planning phases of our trip, but one thing is known; the need of the people in this area is great and the passion for service of Bread of Life and our mission team is just as great. As we continue to plan this trip, I know that He will show us the way to provide exactly what is needed in this village.
