I am raising money for direct support of Ukraine Refugees and Front Line Charities in Slovakia.
As many of you know I lived in Slovakia for 10 years, 2006-2017. Slovakia shares a border with Ukraine and 10's of thousands of refugees have already arrived in Slovakia with more coming every day. Many of my friends are housing refugees and this fund will put money in the hands of refugees to cover everyday costs not being covered by government or other charity programs. These people have nothing but the clothes on their backs and the luggage that they could tow. The Ukraine banking system is not working, they have no debit or credit card to use. And, the average Ukraine wage was only 250 euro per month, so any money they could gather while fleeing will not go far.
Also, money will go towards front-line charities. My Slovak friends have already given me a list of them: Doctors buying medical supplies and driving them to the border; The City of Trnava (where I used to live) converting all their school gymnasiums into shelters and the like.
I have already collected $7200. Please help! $25 is great, a month's salary for a Ukraine, $250 - even better! Whatever you can give!
