Help Us Build a Safe Yard for Rescue Dogs 🐾
Is it crazy to ask for help with a fence? Maybe—but I’m asking because this fence could directly help us get more rescue dogs out of boarding and into a home environment.
Hi, I’m Samantha, founder of Kennel Eviction Rescue. I was only 21 when we opened the rescue, and now at 23, I’ve moved into a home of my own for the first time.
When I found this house, I knew it had the potential to become more than just my home. With three extra rooms, a pet-friendly setup, and enough space for dogs to decompress away from a traditional kennel environment, it could also become a temporary safe place for some of our rescue dogs.
The one major thing it’s missing is a fence.
We currently have multiple dogs still living in paid boarding who desperately need a chance to experience a home environment. Our plan is to rotate appropriate dogs through my home, giving them more individual attention, structure, crate training, decompression time, and the opportunity to simply live like dogs while we continue searching for their forever homes.
But they also need outdoor time. Without a securely fenced yard, safely giving multiple rescue dogs the exercise and enrichment they need becomes extremely difficult.
We have already paid for several renovations and improvements to the property out of pocket to make this possible. Now, we are trying to raise $3,000 to install vinyl fencing around the property.
This isn't just about improving my backyard. It's about creating another resource for Kennel Eviction Rescue and reducing our reliance on long-term boarding whenever possible.
Every dog we can safely transition from boarding into a home environment gets the opportunity to decompress, learn a routine, receive more individualized attention, and become better prepared for adoption. It also helps free up rescue funds that would otherwise continue going toward weekly boarding costs.
I know there are countless causes deserving of support, and asking for help with a fence may sound unusual. But for us, this fence means safety, freedom, enrichment, and another place for rescue dogs to land while they wait for their forever families.
