If you are here reading this, you probably know the story of Molly and Melvin. I rescued Molly in 2012 from the Animal Humane Society in St. Paul, Minnesota where she lived with me in West St. Paul. We watched almost every season of ER together as I prepared to come out, which I did in 2012. Molly was there every step of the way.
Melvin joined our family about six years ago after Molly and I moved into our place on Kingman. Melvin desperately tried to bond with Molly, who mostly looked askance at the feline but occasionally deigned to clean his ears.
Molly died last March when she lost the ability to know where her legs were in space (proprioceptive deficit). Melvin took over as Chief Homosexual Support Animal and for the last year executed his duties faithfully until he suddenly died this May.
Both Molly and Melvin generated significant medical bills. I have one big one left that I'd like to take care of or significantly reduce before considering what's next.
Here's the pitch: If you ever thought, "Gee, I sure am glad Noah has Molly and Melvin to keep him company," now would be a great time to chip in a little bit in honor of that thought.
Melvin's most recent urinary blockage a couple of months ago cost about $4,000. I'm raising money to square away that bill.
