It's no secret that Robin Williams had insurmountable compassion for the homeless and people who needed a hand. I wanted to use that same vein of kindness to try and help someone I know. But I can't do it alone.
I've become aware that a friend is on the cusp of being homeless. They contracted COVID-19 and it set off a chain reaction that left them jobless, carless, and is about to leave them homeless.
Here is what they said,
"In April I cought the coronavirus. I was bad off. Instead of going to the hospital, I locked myself in my room. I was down the whole month of April and a few weeks in May. During the time I was sick and down, I lost my Job. I lost my job because I was sick for too long and they "let me go" because they couldn't wait for me to get better. They had to "fill my spot" and get on with business. Between April and now I have had some misfortunes that just keep piling up. It's one thing after another and I'm not sure what to do anymore. I was buying a truck with a monthly payment of $400. Well, I lost my job and because of that, my trucked got repoed. That was the start of it. I was some what ok because I still had my other truck. And because I'm having to do this job search thing again, I got behind on rent. I missed April, May, and June. I have to go to court in July cause I couldn't pay rent. Now I'm about to be evicted. On top of that, my regular truck broke down on me. Something to do with the transmission. Now I'm still with no job. I have interviews set up. I have no vehicle to even go collect boxes to move. I'm with NO vehicle to get around or go to interviews. Now I can't find a place to move to. I am about to be homeless, with no vehicle and no job. I have a court date to get to and I'm sure I'm not going to make it."
John has struggled with depression, always silently, and has only now opened up because of how bad things are. Please help me do what little we can to make a difference for him that could potentially save his life.
