Hello, my name's Marissa, my little family and I just recently became homeless due to an unfair eviction due to a mix of needing an emergency surgery, FMLA taking forever to send money, and once I was able to get back to work my fiance got laid off. We were able to pay bills by the skin of our teeth, we were only 3 weeks late on rent and we got approved for rental assistance that the landlord refused to accept. We promised to leave at the end of our lease because we had gotten approved for an apartment but the agent never got back to the landlord so he went with a different tenant. That's been the story the whole time trying find find another place with just a deposit voucher from the state.
If we can find a landlord with a heart we will be good but we've had no luck these past 3 weeks. We are staying in a motel which is taking up all of our checks from working. We are both employed full time. Any help will do even if its a penny.
