Hello,
I began journaling at age 5 and decided to turn my thoughts into published works 4 years ago. With Children books as my first choice because it all starts at a young age, reading, writing science, math etc. the soaking in of knowledge is our first superpower. I never understood the term "Starving Artist", until I became one. The opportune moment to be a best seller is the goal of every author, I am sure; however, the reality of that journey isn't always simple or even attainable for many. I was blessed to be in a position to share my publication with the world and reach the hands of children who won't always see a character that looks like them on shelves or in book fairs. In an effort to continue "Adventures with Chewie" 7 book series and animated form I would greatly appreciate your help in doing so. In an effort to keep reading relevant by way of books; in a gadget saturated world, it is my goal to know children will still get excited when the book fair is at school or the teacher reads at circle time, and when adults they can recall parents reading bedtime stories to them. To see a child, flip a page in their favorite book, smile brightly when that book comes to life on screen and hear them recant each page and scene as if they were in the book themselves is what is what my childhood looked like, and what many of our children may be missing, "the imagination". It's imperative we keep our children's imagination bright and thriving, please help me continue to do so by contributing to my fundraiser. While it's been challenging as a black woman Author, it has been as greatly rewarding to see this little guy I call "Chewie" brighten faces in schools, at bedtime and on car rides after the tablet battery needs a recharge, that is the purpose.
