On June 15th, 2023 our son suffered a near fatal drowning event with resulted in a complete hypoxic brain injury. JJ’s prognosis was grim, with doctors informing us that he would never ever be the vibrant child he once was. Organ donation teams were brought in, as they walked us through the process of his anticipated passing. No one expected JJ to survive off a ventilator, but he is a warrior and in early July, was successfully extubated. By late July we were able to bring JJ home, however the road ahead is going to be incredibly long, but we are willing to fight. In the coming year JJ will need to receive stem cells, amongst many other therapies. The ongoing medical costs, equipment, supplies, medications and so forth have created a financial challenge we never anticipated, especially with my husband leaving his job to stay home and care for our children, as our youngest son bears a genetic disability as well. We are looking to host some fund raising events in the coming future and are creating this donation platform as an opportunity for those who may not be able to participate but wanted to still assist. If donations are not doable… that’s OKAY!!! Prayers are a powerful currency that serve a far greater purpose and we as a family are ever grateful the the outpouring of support… in any capacity!!!
