Help Us Create a New Beginning: A Mother & Son Trip to Vietnam
For the past few years, life has been a lot.
I’ve been working hard trying to build a better future for myself and my family. I took a chance on starting my own business, and although it hasn’t taken off the way I hoped yet, I haven’t stopped trying. I’ve picked up odd jobs, continued working, and done what I can to keep moving forward. My oldest son works hard as well, and it feels like we’re both constantly working just to keep up with everyday life.
Recently, I had a health scare where I thought I might be having a stroke. Thankfully, it wasn’t, but going through something that frightening really changed the way I looked at things. It reminded me that we can spend so much time working, stressing and trying to get to the next place in life that we forget to actually live and create memories with the people we love.
That’s why my oldest son and I have made a goal to take a trip to Vietnam together.
This isn’t about taking a fancy vacation. For us, it’s about stepping away from the stress for a little while, experiencing another part of the world together, creating memories as mother and son, and hopefully coming home refreshed and ready for a new chapter.
We’re hoping to travel in November or January, depending on how much we’re able to save. Our overall goal is $10,000 to help cover airfare, accommodations, transportation, food, sightseeing and other travel expenses for the two of us.
We’re working and saving toward the trip ourselves, but I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and ask for a little help along the way.
Any contribution, no matter the amount, would bring us closer to making this experience possible. And if you’re unable to donate, simply sharing our fundraiser would mean just as much.
Sometimes you need a chance to reset, make new memories and remind yourself what you’re working so hard for.
For us, Vietnam represents that fresh start.
