Last winter my dad Kevin had a heart attack and also found out he was diebitic on top of getting frost bite on his feet. Witch ended up leading him to loose his big toe last winter. So now this last year he has been a fight to getting him healthy. Then he got an infection on both his feet on top of trying to get his diabetes and health under control. Well it has been a fight but now the infection has gotten worse and his frost bite has not gotten better. So now they are going to remove his right leg up to his knee and his right foot above the ankle. So now he will be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. For the reason I'm here is to ask for help to make my dad's home safe and wheelchair accessible for him when he gets home from this life changing event. I can only imagine what he is going through right now physically and emotionally I know it's taking a lot from his life. I pray everyday for a miracle to help keep my dad out of the cold and in a place he can move around in an to hold on to his pride. He has always been very independent and does not like to ask for help. But I know my dad and he has helped a lot of people just out of the kindness of his heart. So I was just hoping that maybe some of those people he has helped will see this and know this is a time they could really give back to him in his time of need. For the last 3 years he's been waiting for social security disability and is still continuing to wait to get help because he can't work anymore he was a mechanic for over 30 years and the wear and tear on his body just got to him after all these years. He cant do what he used to be able to and anymore and now with losing his legs and is even worse for him. I know that he's feeling like a burden and he's not and now he's even more depressed because of losing his legs and I just ask for someone to help before I end up losing him all together. He's a good man and doesn't deserve this. The cold winters have taken his leg and foot from him. I just hope to help him keep his dignity and pride by making our home safe for him to get around in and a ramp for him to get in and out. So if you can put yourself in his spot and just thank how life can change so much over night. Wouldn't you hope that someone cared enough to help make your life a little easier by making your place of living accessable for your needs. An to also see that people do care about him and want to see him happy and thankful. That all his kindness was recognized. thank you and God bless
